With an occupation of seven musicians Steve Burns Band plays fresh and modern blues. The band manages to make a striking mix of bluesrock, funk and jazz influences. Falling back on old traditions and styles they translate it into a modern sound.
The band with its roots in Roeselare (Belgium) is no rookie in the Benelux blues scene. Since 2000 already SBB makes Belgian and Dutch stages unsafe. In 2006 they did a mini-tour of the Benelux, with guest musicians Sonny Boy Terry (American singer / harmonica player) and Tony Fazio (U.S. blues guitarist). Also they performed in shows with Bjorn Berge, Dave Alvin, Guy Forsyth, The Paladins feat. Charlie Musslewhite, ... From smoke-filled bars to festivals, they always make a party of it. In 2009, they inserted a sabbatical year as the drag started to take its toll a bit. But they didn't sit still for long, because today they are back with a new occupation, new setlists and more than ever Steve Burns Band stands for quality and spectacle.
The setlist consists of carefully, not gratuitous and obvious covers combined with classy songs from their own hand. Their try to give their own songs a more and more prominent place.
Success on gigs is important but according the musicians it's not which everything revolves. Especially the atmosphere between the musicians and to elevate the band as a whole is their main goal. And the public can feel those vibes. But never the less Steve Burns Band never stops to raise the bar for themselves, because the more public can enjoy it, the better.
